"I was born and raised in Bandung. After high school finished, I wanted
to get out of my comfort zone and thus I decided to study at UPH. But
UPH didn't really become something that was out of comfort, really. UPH
is more like a second home for me, one to which equips me with life
spiritual learning, character building, and how to serve others," says
Felicia Wijaya, alumnus to Applied Communication Science of cohort 2006.
Feli's journey at UPH has become a stepping stone for her career
journey, especially as she is entrusted to be the Assistant Director of
Convention Sales at Intercontinental Hotel Bandung, one among IHG's
6,031 Hotels and Resorts.
Going through college feels like undergoing a new life for Feli. As an
introvert, it has never crossed her mind that she would one day lead and
be entrusted with such great responsibility. However, everything
changed when Feli decided to join the Student Executive Board (BEM-UPH),
Student Consultative Council (MPM-UPH), and conduct events on campus.
The accumulation of all these small decisions have lead Feli to say, “it
has totally changed my life".
As Colossians 3:23 says, 'working heartily as for the Lord and not for
men' is the value that Feli holds day after day. Feli believes that
doing everything for the Lord always reminds her to give her best in
every responsibility no matter how big or small. "Make sure you always
do your best and be irreplaceable!" Feli advises.
Life may not be an easy journey, but it will always bring beautiful
stories to those who fight and learn from their mistakes. And through it
all, UPH has left an impact in Feli's mind and heart. “UPH is a place
that our feet may leave, but not our hearts,” Feli closes.
