Ricky Rizky, Business Director of Rayspeed Asia Plans, Implements, and Accelerates the Process of Human Resource Development
“As the first generation to UPH, of course, there were many
considerations I had to take prior to choosing UPH as a place to
continue my education. But in the end, I believe that going to UPH has
been the best decision I've made because I can see now that UPH is a
university that really cares about the quality of its graduate. I
experienced how my friends and I interacted with my lecturers and how
they are qualified in their background knowledge, as well as
student-parent inclusion in assessing the quality of educators and
educational methods," Ricky explains, one of the handful UPH's
Industrial Engineering alumnus cohort 1994.
Ricky – his colleagues called him – currently serves as Rayspeed Asia's
Business Development Director. As a company that provides international
freight forwarding services, Ricky's main responsibility is in service
development, where he is required to stay updated on the latest updates
and adjust the available services accordingly – both for upcoming
service plans and those that are still running. With the support of his
family and closest friends, Ricky continues to work with honesty,
discipline, and responsibility.
For Ricky, the biggest challenge that he must overcome in his career
lies in Human Capital Development. Information accessibility has
resulted in major changes, especially in workplace cultures: old habits
are not fit for new environments, after all. What used to be rigid and
regulated scope of work is now more flexible alongside of the expanding
company guideline, adapting to the world's acceleration.
Far more importantly, Ricky admits to be very blessed to have gone
through his education at UPH as UPH has equipped him to carry out his
responsibilities today. Moreover, he also believes that UPH still
provides excellent quality education for its students even until today.
“I believe that UPH is as committed to education as when it started.
With available laboratories, library, and qualified lecturers, it would
be a shame if students who have had the opportunity to study at UPH did
not take full advantage of all the available resources. And especially
in teaching-learning process, UPH has proven us a two-way system from
the start, where lecturers and students can discuss and debate academic
matters in a healthy environment,” Ricky concluded.
